As a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic at Wearn, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our modern fleet of trucks, trailers, and associated equipment. Your work will directly support civil, earthmoving, and waste operations across Sydney, ensuring fleet reliability and minimising downtime on projects. You will work closely with a dedicated maintenance team to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.
In this role, you will perform maintenance, servicing, and repairs on heavy vehicles and trailers, including fault diagnosis, preventative maintenance, and compliance inspections. You will rectify defects, follow safety and compliance procedures, and contribute to overall fleet reliability, helping projects run smoothly and on schedule.
You will be accountable for keeping the fleet in optimal condition, performing maintenance and repairs in line with WHS, compliance, and maintenance procedures. Your role requires attention to detail, problem-solving, and collaboration with team members to ensure heavy vehicles remain safe, reliable, and ready for operational demands.
The ideal candidate will be a trade-qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic with experience working on trucks, trailers, and heavy transport equipment. A strong safety mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential. Relevant licences are preferred (HR or higher) but not essential.
